| The vacuum control system in J-PARC Main Ring has been in operation for about 15 years, and the ion pumps had been controlled by a commercial EPICS-embedded PC, microIOC. However, the microIOC was discontinued, and no spare available since 2018. Therefore, we replaced the microIOCs with MOXA servers (serial-LAN server) and saba-taro micro-servers during 2023 and 2024. In addition, we redesigned: a) the hardware cable connections (to have smaller number of RS485 devices in a chain), and b) the EPICS database configurations (to have faster response time). The upgraded system has been in operation without a problem since Jan. 2024. More details will be described in the paper. |
